FlatCore operates on a constraint-based puzzle system where every shape interaction follows deterministic rules. Each level presents a grid containing geometric objects with specific rotation and movement properties. Your objective is to manipulate these shapes through a limited set of transformations until they satisfy the completion condition displayed at the top of the screen.
The game introduces mechanics gradually across 120 handcrafted levels divided into 6 thematic worlds. Early puzzles teach basic rotation and translation concepts using 3-4 shapes. Mid-game levels add layering mechanics where shapes can overlap with specific stacking rules. Advanced stages incorporate color-mixing logic and multi-step transformation chains requiring 8-12 moves to solve.
The interface strips away all non-essential elements. Tap a shape to select it, swipe to rotate or move based on its properties. No tutorials interrupt gameplay—mechanics are taught through level design itself. The undo system allows infinite backtracking, and a hint system reveals the next correct move without penalty, encouraging experimentation over frustration.
